I'm like you, I like to win and I want to have an advantage whenever possible. This bio will give you a better understanding about my history, Steve Martinez, why I started Selling Magic and why we focus on automating the selling process to give you an advantage in business.
What I learned from printing
I developed an appreciation for printing in high school and college. Yes, was a printer and still have my journeyman credentials to strip negatives in a print shop if I ever want to do that again.
I watched an industry transform itself when automated plate making technology first came out. The result is the instant printing industry.
This production automation planted the seed for me to automate and streamline everything I can to become more successful. With a limited college education, I knew that I had to work harder and smarter than the other guy or gal. Automation and workflow stuck in my mind as the successful way to get more done in less time.
My sales and marketing career gets started
Although I began my career in print production, I always had a creative side and a passion for marketing and sales.
Eventually, I started selling printing, later copiers and production equipment as a national accounts manager with million dollar accounts.
This experience led me to becoming a business consultant and the National Sales Manager for the world largest printing franchise.
My goal has always been to help business owners increase sales. The best way to accomplish this is by teaching the sales process and providing a success track. There is one thing I learned in my years in selling that hold true today . . .
